AMERICAN HONDA’S ASHLEY
FIOLEK, FRESH OFF STRONG FINISHES IN WORLD
CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS, IS SET TO GO AFTER THE 2008 WMA WOMEN’S
MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP
Pebble Beach, CA (May 29,
2008)- Multi-time amateur motocross champion and rising star in
the Women’s Motocross Association (WMA) professional series,
Ashley Fiolek, fresh from competing in two European rounds of
the FIM Women’s World Cup of Motocross, is set to embark on her
first full season in the WMA.
“The FIM European events were amazing. The program is great
over there and the women are really, really fast,” says
17-year-old Ashley. “I was really pleased with my third place
(Bulgaria) and fourth place (Italy) finishes in my first World
Championship events, and after leading the race in Italy, I know
I have the speed to win World Championship races! Now it is
time to focus on Hangtown and the WMA Championship.”
The AMA/WMA Championship presented by Kawasaki kicks off this
weekend at the 40th annual Honda Hangtown classic in Rancho
Cordova, CA. The 2008 WMA season is destined to be the
strongest ever with the WMA racing in primetime on both Saturday
and Sunday. Additionally there will be highlight features in
the Speed TV coverage and on the Racer X Motocross Show on
www.motocross.com.
Ashley’s fans should be sure to stop by her Red Bull rig in the
WMA paddock to check out the great program her sponsors have
helped put together. They can also see Ashley and the other WMA
racers who will
be signing autographs at the WMA meet-and-greet in vendors row,
Sunday at noon.
